The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in the first reading the draft law of MP Kateryna Lukyanova, member of the CDU Board, concerning limitations in usage of auxiliary reproductive technologies.
“Lately, Ukraine has been involved in the scandals concerning violations of rights of the children born by surrogate mothers. For example, the children born by surrogate mothers in Ukraine are not recognized by the states which ban the reproductive technologies legally. The parents use illegal ways to take such children abroad. Thus, none of the states can follow the child’s life,” Kateryna Lukyanova told.
That is why, the MP says, they have developed a draft law defining the categories of people who cannot enjoy the auxiliary reproductive technologies. Specifically, those are citizens of the states which ban the reproductive technologies legally.
Also, the draft law limits the age of the woman who can be a surrogate mother.
