Bilozir: Nothing counts without love

Bilozir: Nothing counts without love

For most of us the passing year has been quite complicated.

Constant crisis and conflicts, of political, economic, and social nature,  badly affected our spirits, created misunderstanding, intolerance and sometimes anger which can lead to hatred.

But the year is running to its end. And on Sunday already, the Western Christian world will celebrate one of its greatest holidays — Christmas.

This holiday is a symbol of the greatest expression of  God’s love, as long as the birth of Christ was the beginning of the most important event in our history — the Mission of atonement. As it is said in the John’s Gospel: “God loved the world so much that He gave it His Only Begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him would not die but would have eternal life.”

Jesus Christ has carried this love for His Divine Father through all His life and His teaching. Moreover, He has become the incarnation of this love. His testament “Love each other as I have loved you” today seems to be even more urgent than it was two thousand years ago.

It is now especially that His testament “But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" is so important.

Love is the essence of Christianity. Enduring, merciful, love that does not envy, nor get superior, nor is it impolite. It only searches for what belongs to it, it feels no anger, it isn’t up to evil things, and it is not happy with lies!

And this is the best merry news we can imagine! So let’s be merry! As Christ is born! He is born for our salvation! He is born to give us love!

Christ is born! Let’s glorify him!
