The meeting in commemoration of Valeriy Marchenko took place in the cinema club “Cinematograf-3000” with the support of Kyiv Region Organization of Christian Democratic Union.

“Our cinema club organizes a series of meetings devoted to people who are the part of a big history of Ukraine. We consider it necessary to recollect, share knowledge, talk about those who are integral part of Ukraine. We are sure that these people will live as long as we remember them,” Volodymyr Boyko, first deputy head of Kyiv Region Organization of Christian Democratic Union, said.

“Valeriy Marchenko was a very talented person. He was the only Ukrainian translator of classical Azerbaijani literature. His life was destroyed by the Soviet system only because he loved his country, his people. It is our duty to remember him,” Boyko added.
